Ever since middle school, I have been fascinated by the idea that during the Cold War, there were so many missile sites set up all around the United States to protect us from a potential Soviet Union attack. Attending Talcott Mountain Academy (a former Nike Missile Site turned Science Center/School) opened my eyes to a world of warfare I never realized existed!

In this paper, I explain how despite the looming threat of a Soviet Union attack, the Nike Missile Program may have ultimately been a waste.
